Saga of Valor & Supreme Sacrifice

On 21 October 2022, Major Vikas Bambhu was piloting a HAL Rudra ALH-WSI helicopter along the Line of Actual Control in Arunachal Pradesh. When sudden catastrophic mechanical failure occurred, he and his co-pilot maneuvered the descending aircraft away from clustered village homes, giving up their lives to protect civilian populations.
